                      IDAHO - YELLOWSTONE

The majestic Teton Range separates Western Wyoming

from Eastern Idaho and within the shadows of those

dramatic peaks are some of the west’s finest waters.

Rivers like the Teton, Snake River, Henry’s Fork, South Fork

of the Snake, as well as the waters of Yellowstone National

Park and some smaller tributary streams flow through this

beautiful part of our west.

A very popular fly fishing adventure in the area is the

overnight float trip through the scenic South Fork of the

Snake River Canyon.  Even though it involves an

overnight stay in the canyon, this is not “roughing it.”

The stationary tent camp utilized is comfortable and the

food outstanding.  The number of drift boats allowed is

limited each day keeping the overall experience from being

overbooked.  The South Fork overnight float has proven to be

a great centerpiece for a long weekend trip for families, group

of friends, or corporate associates. There are many ways to

experience the wonders of this part of our country.  Three

Rivers Ranch is one of the lower USA’s finest lodge operations.

With an ambiance and cuisine labeled as “western luxury,”

they are located about 50 miles west of Yellowstone in Eastern

Idaho and access all the famous waters here.

South Fork Lodge, Henry’s Fork Lodge, and a few others provide quality Eastern Idaho lodge operations and can host corporate groups and families.

Teton Springs (on the Idaho side of the Tetons) offers a unique “high country resort” ambiance with 3 and 4 bedroom “luxury log cabins” available for rent.  Great for families, corporate gatherings or groups of friends.  Within this spectacular 780 acre layout, you’ll find a championship 18 hole golf course, a nine hole par 3 course, restaurants, spa, tennis courts, swimming pool, basketball court, fitness center, and small lakes stocked with cutthroat trout.

World Cast Outfitters supplies the guide services for Teton Springs visitors and they cover a wide range of waters.  Also, they have excellent programs for teaching newcomers to fly fishing.

In a different part of the state, about three hours from Boise, is another very popular Idaho option, Wapiti Meadows.  Wapiti offers many options from horseback riding to fly-in overnight float trips on the Salmon River.  Individual two bedroom cabins are available to facilitate family groups.
